So my manager has been made to hire an assistant manager, and instead of bringing in someone new, she asked for one of the part-timers who'd been there a while and wasn't a fuck up to take the spot. Fair enough.

However, she hasn't been given a new budget either since a) minimum wage went up at the end of March, or b) she got an assistant manager. So right now, my hours for next week are as follows:

Wednesday: 6PM - 9PM
Thursday: 6PM - 9PM

She's hoping to get a new budget and I am too. That stuff I wanted to do to apply to school is going to be much harder now... Did I even mention that? The Community College of Philadelphia'll take pre-approval for a loan but they need me to have my courses evaluated, which MontCo didn't. If I can afford it I'd really like to have my lisence before I go down to the States, too, if I'm going to end up being there for school for August.

I'll have lots of time to level up in WAR, at least.

I was singing along with Fergie's one part (People in the place/If you wanna get down) and my coworker Ashley just... stared at me, and was like "Insane singing!" Why does the only thing I'm good at singing have to be pop?

Started work today finally even though my shift was originally cancelled. Got a letter from Montogomery County Community College saying pre-approval for a loan isn't good enough and they need me to have actual money for it. Josh sent me an email he got from his mom about it in an attempt to make me feel better but it only made me feel worse. Do they even know how long it'll take me to get that money, plus all the other shit I need? I won't be able to apply till at least two years from now at this rate. If that. I could try to go up here for next January or September '10 but then I'd be away from Josh for at least 5 years instead of at least 2. Wonderful.

Today is fucking awful and I wish it was over. And I work 9-5 tomorrow. Lovely.

I got called in for a job interview this morning from the assistant manager at International Clothiers. She sounded really stressed out so I didn't mind coming in on my birthday. I was hired almost immediately, now it's just a question of whether I start Sunday or Monday, and whether I'll be a regular part-timer or assistant manager. Even if I'm given the assistant manager shifts I probably won't be given a key right away, since they've had problems with employees stealing (hence why she's hiring, everyone but her is being fired and she's being made manager), but I'm pretty sure I'll be able to prove myself trustworthy quickly.
